With six albums in the last eight years and his 2025 single, Déjà Blu  Cru is embarking on a new studio album expected to be released in early 2026.   The album, Might Give Out (but I won't give in) will be yet another batch of all original songs written by Cru.. And, as usual these songs testify to Cru's reputation as style-bending eclectic  where listeners get a taste of roots music  with songs flavored with rock, country, soul and gospel.

Cru's most recent release the instrumental, Déjà Blu proved that Cru is equally adept at composing and performing lush guitar work as well as crafting songs with lyrics in that Downbeat magazine has called blues poetry,   Déjà Blu followed his Fall 2024 high energy Tas Cru Band LIVE .  This album showcases his 2024 tour band performing his fan’s top-ten requested songs and was nominated by Blues Blast Magazine for the year's best live album.

Cru is a well-seasoned performer and entertainer. He knows how to read an audience. By intuition, Cru adjusts his sets on the fly to make sure his performance connects with them. While this is a skill acquired from years of performing, having a repertoire of well over 150 original songs to draw on certainly gives him a leg up on most others.

Indeed, above all else Tas Cru is a songwriter. “He is a real writer,” says Bruce Iglauer – owner/producer of the renowned Alligator Records.  High praise comes from Downbeat magazine, describing Cru as one of the most unique of roots musicians plying his trade today; “With fresh melodies and his trademark well-crafted lyrics, Cru has the ability to cast a magical hook.” According to Tas, himself, “I insist that words serve more than to treat the listener like a hitch-hiker desperate to reach the guitar solo!”   Tas Cru – always original  and where the songs matter, lyrics speak, and melody gets room to breathe!
